Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you provide. When you create an account we collect your email address and the name you choose to display. When you use the app, you can add account balances, transactions, budget goals, stock holdings, and notes. We treat this content as yours.
- Information generated by your use of the service. This includes timestamps, device type, app version, and limited usage analytics that help us diagnose problems and improve the product.
- Market data we fetch on your behalf. When you add a stock or ETF, we query public market-data providers to retrieve quotes, historical prices, and dividend information about that ticker. These requests do not include your identity.
- Financial account data via Plaid (optional). If you choose to link a bank or investment account through our Plaid integration, we receive read-only access to balances, transaction history, and investment holdings from those accounts. Account linking is entirely optional — you can use Wealthly without linking accounts and continue to enter financial data manually.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain Wealthly across iOS and web.
- Sync your data between devices so your iPhone and web companion stay in agreement.
- Display your linked account balances, transactions, and investment holdings within the app.
- Send you transactional emails (sign-in confirmations, password resets, account notices).
- Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve features.
- Enforce our Terms of Service and protect against abuse or fraud.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your financial data to target advertising. We do not share your transaction or holding details with data brokers. We do not initiate payments, transfers, or any movement of funds.
Service providers we rely on
We use a small number of third-party service providers to operate Wealthly. Each is bound by contractual obligations to process your data only on our instructions and to maintain appropriate security.
- Supabase — database, authentication, and realtime sync. Your account data is stored in Supabase's Postgres infrastructure.
- Cloudflare — edge network and the worker that proxies market-data and account-aggregation requests from the app. Request metadata may be processed transiently at Cloudflare's edge.
- Plaid — secure bank and investment account aggregation. When you choose to link a financial account, Plaid collects authentication credentials directly (we never see them) and provides Wealthly with read-only access to balances, transaction history, and investment holdings. See Plaid's privacy policy at https://plaid.com/legal/.
- Market-data providers — public equity pricing, historical quotes, and dividend schedules. Ticker symbols and date ranges are sent; your account identity is not.
- Apple — app distribution through the App Store, and optional Sign in with Apple for authentication.
Plaid integration
Wealthly offers an optional feature that allows you to securely link your bank and investment accounts via Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to automatically sync balances, transactions, and holdings into the app.
- Plaid securely collects the credentials needed to access your financial accounts. Wealthly does not see, store, or transmit your bank or brokerage login credentials at any point.
- Wealthly receives read-only access to: account balances, account details, transaction history, and investment holdings.
- We use this data exclusively to display your financial information back to you within the Wealthly app and across your synced devices.
- We do not initiate payments, transfers, or any movement of funds. Wealthly cannot move money on your behalf.
- We do not sell or share Plaid-sourced data with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose.
- You can disconnect any linked account at any time through Settings in the app. Disconnecting an account stops new data from being received from that account.
For details on how Plaid handles your data, please review Plaid's end-user privacy policy at https://plaid.com/legal/.
How long we keep information
We retain your account and the data in it for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize the associated personal information — including any data received via Plaid — from our primary systems within 30 days. Backups may retain information for up to 90 additional days before being overwritten.
Your rights and choices
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can do most of this directly in the app by editing or deleting the relevant items, disconnecting any linked financial accounts, or deleting your account in Settings.
For any request we can't complete in-app — or for residents of California, the EEA, the UK, or any jurisdiction that grants additional privacy rights — email support@trywealthly.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored with encryption at rest via our infrastructure providers. Access to production systems is restricted and logged. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your Wealthly account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
Children's privacy
Wealthly is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and — for significant changes — notify you by email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect.
